SelectUSA 2018: Romanian delegation, the 5th largest in the world

Paula Pîrvănescu, Secretary of State InvestRomania, is making an official visit to the U.S.A. InvestRomania was invited by the U.S. Embassy to join the biggest Romanian delegation ever to attend the SelectUSA Investment Summit in Washington D.C., between June 20-22. This year, our country’s delegation to the Select USA ranks 5th worldwide, ahead of our regional peers and some of the most preeminent international capital exporters, being the largest delegation from Europe.

Taking advantage of this opportunity, the Romanian official also attended an investment forum organized together with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce and with the support of the U.S. Embassy and the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as a significant milestone in supporting Romanian companies to establish business meetings and potential successful partnerships with the American ones that are operating in the same areas of activity. On this occasion our team delivered a presentation on Romania’s competitive advantages before the U.S. business community, encouraging the growth of the economic dimension of the Romanian-US Strategic Partnership.

Paula Pîrvănescu also attended a series of meetings with relevant organizations including the General Consulate of Romania in Chicago and the Chicago City Hall. Last year, Chicago was home to more than $ 100 billion in FDI, receiving the “FDI Magazine’s” 2017 Foreign Direct Investment Strategy Award for its international outreach.

In Washington D.C. our team will meet potential U.S. investors, taking part in various official meetings set up by the Romanian Embassy.
