The objective is to make Mioveni reach top 5 largest and most important industrial platforms of the Renault Group in the world by 2020

Daimler AG is one of the biggest manufacturer of premium auto vehicles in the world.
With more than 1,800 employees in its Romanian subsidiaries, Star Assembly and Star Transmission Daimler was one of the first Romanian companies to offer a dual education system model, following the German state of Baden-Wuerttemberg.

In 2013 Star Assembly Company, received 37.4 million euros in state aid for the construction of a production plant. In 2016, Daimler released the 9G Tronic gearbox for Mercedes Benz, at Sebes, investing  EUR 300 million and creating 500 new jobs.

Daimler holds 100% of the Star Transmission Company, in Cugir, producing gears, shafts and machined components for engines, transmissions and steering systems. Established in 2001, the Cugir facility includes a technology center and an instruction space.

The decision on the new plant is a very rational process in which we compare all aspects of education level, availability of labor force, logistics, infrastructure, how easy it is to do business in that country, distance to suppliers and customers. Romania can be a solution. In Romania we have a positive experience due to the gearbox factory, which is very good. It’s an advantage for Romania that we have a factory for gearboxes there.

Procter & Gamble is one of the leading manufacturers of fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) worldwide. The US based company is present in Romania since early 1992.

Procter & Gamble is present on the domestic market through three entities covering a wide range of activities, from production to marketing and distribution : Procter & Gamble Marketing Romania (coordinating the marketing activities for Romania and other 7 countries in the region), Procter & Gamble Distribution SRL (coordinating distribution within Romania),  and Detergenti SA .

In 1995 Procter & Gamble Trust took over Detergenti S.A. manufacturing company in Timisoara, with 850 employees and a 40 mill USD initial investment, supplying the markets of Ukraine, Moldova, Hungary, Kazakhstan.

As of 2006, Procter & Gamble has opened a Regional Service Center in Romania, in charge of attending the needs of all P&G offices in Europe.

In August 2008, Procter & Gamble decided to build a new beauty care products plant in Urlati Industrial Park Prahova, as its biggest shampoo-producing unit in the world. The 100 mill investment was mainly export oriented, as 90% covered external markets, with over 60% of shampoos manufactured here being shipped to Turkey, Russia and Eastern Europe.

Microsoft Corp, the largest producer of software in the world is present on the domestic market since 1992 with two centers: one in Bucharest and one support development center in Timisoara. Currently the US based company has 760 employees and plans to expand to over 1,000 over the next two years.

Together with 3,000 active trading partners in Romania, Microsoft supplies more than 600,000 solutions for public institutions and for small and medium companies.

Young people and education are among Microsoft’s priorities in Romania. In 2013 the company announced a grant of $ 50,000 for developing a national mentoring program for youth career guidance.

German group Continental is the largest manufacturer of components for the automotive local market, with an annual turnover of over 2 billion and over 16,500 employees. It is the country’s largest exporter of automotive parts industry.

In 2015 the German based company invested 130 million euros to develop autonomous systems for cars of the future. Reported activity in Romania reached 5.9% of the overall turnover of group (39.2 billion euros). With 16,500 employees as in 2015, Romania activity accounted for almost 8% of the German group.

Continental Automotive Romania has 4 locations in Romania – a research and development center in Timisoara, an automotive electronics plant in Timisoara, a research and development center in Iasi, a factory for electromechanical components (fuel pump) to Brasov.

Continental Romania plans to invest over 160 million euro in 2016 in Sibiu, Brasov and Iasi. Among the new projects to be developed by Continental in Romania this year, there is also the expansion of electronic components factory in Timisoara. In addition, the company will hire another 1,000 people, reaching 17,500 employees all over the country.
